Location, Directions, and Parking

Getting to Greenville

  • From Rocky Mount: Take NC 43 South (From US 64 go East to N. Raleigh St., go east to Springfield Rd., then south to Cokey Rd. then east on Cokey Rd.) through Pinetops and on to Greenville. Cross over US 264 and continue on to NC 11 (Memorial Drive). Turn Right on Memorial and go to the 4th stoplight (Arlington Blvd.) and turn left. Go through 4 stoplights and then take the second left onto Turtle Creek Road, between the Condominiums, to Oakmont Dr. Turn right on Oakmont, go around the curve, and UUCG is toward the end on your left.
    • Alternate routes from Rocky Mount: You can also take US 64 East to Tarboro and then take NC 33 East to Greenville, or continue to Bethel and take NC 11 South as noted below in the Outer Banks directions. Irregardless, you will need to follow NC 11 South (Memorial Drive) to Arlington Blvd.
  • From Northeastern NC: If coming from the Northeast (Elizabeth City, Edenton, etc.) take US 17 South to Williamston. In Williamston, US 17 South and US 64 West will run together. From that point, continue following US 64 West and follow the directions from the Outer Banks below.
  • From the Outer Banks: Coming from the Outer Banks, take US 64 West to Williamston. At this point, you have 3 different options on how to get to Greenville, depending on your driving preferences.
    • Easiest, most comfortable: Continue on US 64 West to Exit 496 (NC 11 - Bethel). Take NC 11 South toward Greenville. Be aware that on the bypass around Bethel, there are often speed traps. This route is the most comfortable, 4-lanes divided the whole way to Greenville, but isn't the fastest.
    • Middle option: Continue on US 64 West to NC 903 - Robersonville (don't know the exit number, somewhere in the low-500s) Take NC 903 South through Robersonville (and you go right through downtown). NC 903 will take you to NC 11 just north of Greenville, where you will turn left and continue following NC 11 South. Also note that NC 903 does come to an intersection between the Pitt- Martin County Line and the town of Stokes, where you will make a right, but the directions are clearly marked. This route will save you maybe 5 minutes on your trip, but includes considerably more 2-lane driving.
    • Fastest route, most challenging: Take US 64 West to NC 125, just west of Williamston. Turn left toward the Bob Martin Agricultural Center (should be labeled as toward Greenville as well). Once you pass the Agricultural Center, NC 125 ends and you are on Prison Camp Road, but the road continues, none the less. There are some curvy portions, but it will take you to NC 903 just north of the Pitt-Martin County line. Turn left onto NC 903 and follow the directions above. This route cuts at more of a diagonal and direct route to Greenville and can save you about 10 minutes over the longest option.
Once all three routes come back together just north of Greenville, continue south on NC 11 (Memorial Drive) past the airport and over the Tar River. After crossing the river, continue to the 6th stoplight (Arlington Blvd.) and turn left. Go through 4 stoplights and then take the second left onto Turtle Creek Road, between the Condominiums, to Oakmont Dr. Turn right on Oakmont, go around the curve, and UUCG is toward the end on your left.
  • From Washington and points East:Take US 264 West to Greenville. At the first stoplight, US 264 West turns right, where US 264 Alt turns left. Turn left and follow the Alternate Route. Cross the Tar River and continue on Greenville Blvd (US 264 Alt) to the 6th stoplight (Charles Blvd.) and turn left. Go through one stoplight (Red Banks Rd.) and then take the second right onto Oakmont Drive. (Oakmont is both the first and second rights, as it is a loop. You want to turn beside the Kangaroo Convenience Store.) UUCG is the second building facing Oakmont on your right.
  • From Morehead City: Take US 70 West to New Bern. Exit onto NC 17 North and follow that highway to Vanceboro. Just south of Vanceboro, bear to the left to take NC 43 North through Vanceboro and on to Greenville. Once you get to Greenville (crossing Firetower Road with drug stores and shopping centers on each corner, continue forward for about a mile, keeping an eye out for a pool with a water slide and a Kangaroo Convenience Store on the left. Turn left at the convenience store onto Oakmont Drive. UUCG is the second building on the right facing Oakmont.
  • From New Bern: From UUFNB take NC 43 North toward Vanceboro and follow directions from Morehead City above, or take NC 17 North and follow Morehead City directions above.
  • From Wilmington: Take I-40 West to Exit 373 and then follow NC 24 East towards Kenansville. On the bypass around Kenansville, NC 11 North will begin to run with NC 24 East. From this point, continue to follow the signs for NC 11 North to Kinston and Greenville. Continue following directions from Kinston below.
  • From Kinston: Take NC 11 (King St./MLK) North toward Greenville. Just past the Sam's Club in Winterville, turn right onto Firetower Road (Wilco-Trade Mart on corner). Follow Firetower Road to the 4th stoplight (Charles Blvd.) and turn left. Follow Charles Blvd. for about a mile, keeping an eye out for a pool with a water slide and a Kangaroo Convenience Store on the left. Turn left at the convenience store onto Oakmont Drive. UUCG is the second building on the right facing Oakmont.
  • From Goldsboro/Snow Hill: Take US 13 North to Farmville, where it merges with US 264 Alternate East. continue following US 264 Alt East to Greenville. Once the road becomes 5-lanes, follow US 264 Alt East as it turns right at the first stoplight. You are now on Greenville Blvd. Follow Greenville Blvd. to the 7th stoplight (Red Banks Road -- Bojangles, BB&T, Adams Car Wash, and Cici's Pizza on the corners) and turn right. Go to the 2nd stoplight and turn right onto Charles Blvd. and take the second right onto Oakmont Drive. (Oakmont is both the first and second rights, as it is a loop. You want to turn beside the Kangaroo Convenience Store.) UUCG is the second building facing Oakmont on your right.
  • From Fayetteville: Take I-95 North to Exit 107 (US 301 - Kenly). Take US 301 North to US 264 East just south of Wilson. Continue following US 264 East directions from Wilson below.
  • From Raleigh and points west: Get on the I-440 beltline and take Exit 14 (US 64/264 East) toward Zebulon. In Zebulon, take the Exit (unnumbered) for US 264 East to Wilson & Greenville. Continue following US 264 East directions from Wilson below.
  • From Wilson: Take US 264 East to Greenville. Just outside of town, US 264 Exits onto a bypass at Exit 73 to Washington, but do NOT follow this exit, continue forward following the sign marked "Greenville-Downtown." Go to the 3rd stoplight and make a right onto Arlington Blvd. Follow Arlington through 6 stoplights and then take the second left onto Turtle Creek Road, between the Condominiums, to Oakmont Dr. Turn right on Oakmont, go around the curve, and UUCG is toward the end on your left.

Parking

UUCG has a limited number of parking spaces. You may also park on the street, but luckily, there are numerous other available parking areas which are not used on weekends, and are frequently used by visitors to UUCG. Parking in front of the Montessori school, to the left of our building from the street, is available, as well as a parking lot behind the office building to our right. Avoid using the three parking spots in front of the right side building, as the beauty salon in that building is often open on Saturdays and the proprietor may ask you to move. Parking in the Gold's Gym lot is generally okay, and we haven't had any complaints from them. There is also pleanty of parking in the small shopping center on the corner of Oakmont and Charles.

Wheelchair access is not available from the front door, but instead must be accessed from the back door on the right side of the building. This door is locked with a combination lock (which does not have a setting to stay unlocked), so someone will have to open the door for you. Plans are underway for a ramp in the front, but it will not be complete by the time of the Cluster meeting. Parking most convenient to the accessible door is in the parking lot in the rear of the building to our right.
